Coburg Activity Centre

The proposed Activity Centre for Coburg has raised a number of concerns for local residents. Key concerns include:

  1. Inadequate public transport for proposed increased development growth and density

  2. Increased congestion on already busy local roads

  3. Under investment in local infrastructure to support Activity Centre population growth, e.g. schools, medical clinics, parks

  4. High-rise building impact on liveability, e.g. overshadowing on properties or businesses, lack of off-site parking included in designs

  5. Poor quality developments that are not designed for owner occupiers or community integration

  6. Impact on heritage overlays and covenants for residential homes e.g. Glencairn Estate and Sydney Road street frontage for heritage shops

  7. Impact of high-rise buildings on ammenities without proper planning, such as drains and sewer system
